Help other writers by L.S. Hawker

Awesome post about helping other Authors.

The Page Turner

My friend—we’ll call her A for reasons that will become clear—belonged to an online support group for unpublished authors. Everybody was nice and, as the name implies, supportive. Members even met in person and became true friends, like A and one of the women she met in the group (we’ll call her B). But then something happened.

Detective Michaela Kendall’s abduction at the age of fourteen left her with a burden of becoming a self-appointed protector. The brutalization of her capture left her without any memory of the horrible ordeal except for terrifying dreams of Atelic Horton, her captor. When he escapes from prison, she knows it’s her duty to capture him. Circumstances throw her together with Marshal Ray Steele, an encounter she wanted to forget but it seems he didn’t take too kindly to a gun being pointed in his face. His rough and tuff cowboy ways are known for upholding the law to any measure within the bounds of Justice.

When Michaela and Ray set out to find the prisoner they soon find out they need each other but the journey is full of twists and danger. Ray proves to be her protector on more than one occasion. Somewhere along the way, Michaela sees him in a different light, that not all men were the same. But, lurking in the shadows, Atelic watches from a distance ready to make his move.

 Wellington Cross Series

This is a historical romance series set in the late 1800s.

Welcome to my world of Wellington Cross.  I want you to close your eyes with me and imagine yourself on a plantation on the James River in old Virginia, sitting on a veranda gazing at the billowy boughs of tall oaks and magnolia trees.  Oh, the heat finds you where you are, so see yourself drinking a cup of tea or a mint Julep.  Or take a bottle of Madeira wine and a blanket down by the river and watch the sunset, feeling the warm wet southern breezes against your face and deeply inhale the scent of jasmine so sweet it becomes one with your soul.  This is the world of Wellington Cross, and I want to take you there.  This plantation has more stories than you can imagine.  So many stories, you will need to shoo them away with your hands like lightning bugs.  Sit for a spell and read about a world away from our own and far in the past.  You may just want to stay.

If you want to list your romance novel for February just email it to me. scruggs3@nctc.com

5.     Makes someone’s day

When a blogger makes a post, they are sharing their passion. It’s important to them. The time spent researching, writing and posting is essential to give the reader a content to learn, inquire, and pursue a subject is time well spent to the blogger.

Reblogging is a great networking tool. It gets information out to a broader list of readers with the benefit of drawing more readers to your website. As an Author, I find ways to promote other books on my blog. For instance, the month of February is the month of LOVE, so I am accepting excerpts and blurbs of romance books.(Clean Reads). It not only promotes other authors but my books as well drawing other readers to find my books.

Reblogging stimulates conversation. It builds a community of readers engaging in conversation about a certain subject which gives you a chance to meet interesting people.

And, last but NOT least, reblogging can make someone’s day. When a person puts time and effort into making a post and then see’s someone reblog their content, it gives them a sense of pride and joy. It will certainly cheer them up. Remember, you may be the only communication that someone has.

Happy Reblogging!
