The Virtuous Woman

Did you know one of the hebrew meanings of a ‘virtuous woman’ is cha-yil. Cha-yil has a military overtone. It means might, bravery, success. She is more than a homemaker, she is a warrior! The Proverbs 31 woman is shown actively doing productive things. She works with her hands, engages in trade “like the merchant’s ships,” and oversees workers in her household (Prov. 31:13-16, 19, 22, 24). She’s not full of anxiety because she has confidence in her ability to care for her business and family (Prov. 31:18, 21, 27). She does her husband good and not evil all the days of life. Proverbs 31:12 Read Proverbs 31 again to see the strong, brave, and successful woman, not the frail, stay-at-home woman.
You as a woman are far better than rubies!
